One of 13 children as opposed to the three shown in DeLong & Harlow. DOD for Sarah beleived to be after 1849. Almira married on 5 aug 1849 at West Thompson, Windham Cty, Conn. Her sister [one of the 13] married on the same day. Sister=Maria Vibbert -m- Ebenezer Jencks.

PT Leader 15 Feb 1890, Capt. Penhallow of Schooner Robert Lewers loading lumber at Port Gamble for Honolulu spent day with his family here.

L and D p221, Capt. D. B. P. Penhallow was born in Honolulu in 1845 and in 1860 commenced his marine career on the Pacific coast. 1872 mate on ship Panther, after a year Master of the W. C. Park. Master of Enoch Talbot, Bkn Discovery, Sch Ann, Bkn Eureka, Plater, C. D. Bryant, Robert Lewers and Alice Cook. The Alice Cook since her construction. Before 1872 was employee of British India Steam Navigation Co.

McCurdy p374: Alice Cooke, Hall built in 1891, was named for the 3 yr old daughter of C. M. Cooke of the Hawaiian firm of Lewers and Cooke. Traded between Hawaii and Pacific Coast. First commanded by Capt. D. P. Penhallow.
